El Azteca Restaurant in Dunkirk

I was here last night with the family for a quick dinner. We were seated quickly and waitress took our order shortly after. The margarita was pretty good and not water down. The salsa was a bit water down and too runny for my taste. Fortunately the food were good with flavor just right. I would say the price was quite reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food.

We eat here a lot and really enjoy the selection. Don't let the outside fool you, there's plenty of space, and it's very nice inside. The people who work there are always very nice, and attentive. I've never had to wait too long for food. They keep the chips and salsa coming, and never rush us out if we want to talk after a meal.

I've been to other Mexican restaurants that are more authentic. Having said that Azteca's food is always good ,fresh ,priced right, fast friendly service, free warm chips and salsa

I'm from California and this was pretty good. Very nice server. Good margaritas

Awful food. I ordered a combo plate with two enchiladas and a taco. This place is as authentic Mexican as Taco Bell. The enchilada “sauce” tasted like brown gravy. If there was even one dried chili in there it was 1 part per 2,000 gallons. And I’ve noticed Mexican places around this part of the country use some off-white, almost beige cheese. NOT queso fresco. It’s some Gouda-like thing. Super weird.And the “taco” was one of those store bought hard shells lol. Laughed when I saw it. Perfect example of a place catering to local ignorance. If you want Mexican food, head to the western states or Mexico. Sad that these gringos around here think this bland garbage is what Mexican food is. What a crock.

The good is great, the salsa tastes fresh, but not too hot, and the service makes you feel at home.

Decided to try it because of so many people telling my father that is was good food. We arrived and stood there waiting to be seated for a few minutes. The workers just kept passing us and staring at us while we were waiting, which was very uninviting. We finally got seated, and a waitress brought over chips and salsa. The salsa was very watery and had no taste whatsoever. Then a waiter came over to take our order. A third worker brought out our food and told us the plates were hot. The thing is... our plates were very hot but the food wasn't. We both ordered 2 burritos with rice and beans. All of the food was flavorless! We were thinking that because it was a Mexican restaurant it would have flavor. Everything was terrible for our first visit there. We also did not have an actual waiter/waitress that checked to see how everything was. I would give this place 0 stars if it let me.

Sister picked up food yesterday. Food was good but cashier was not wearing a mask. Disappointed

This is the first "authentic" Mexican restaurant that I've ordered from that didn't serve the traditional soft shell taco. Meat was dry and the shell was no different than Taco Bell. They didn't offer salsa or pico de gallo. My husband had the smallest taco salad he's ever seen. Rice was ok. Won't eat there again.

Probably one of the best $10-$15 dining experiences I can recall. Fast friendly hot fresh delicious clean and reasonable. Ice cold beer and margaritas. Look forward to returning.

Fajita's, Chimichunga, cheese quesadilla, churos and awesome homemade salsa and chips were all super amazing. A definite favorite family stop whenever passing by Fredonia!

Really, really good Mexican food, great margaritas on the rocks and awesome, warm friendly servers. Recommend the enchiladas and the salsa es my bueno.

I'm honestly disappointed. The decoration was lively,I they had good tejano music playing. I don't know if it's because I came in an hour before close, but the food was bland, the margs were extremely watery, and I could see through the salsa. The refried beans were obviously from a can and the managed to remove the flavor from the onions and peppers from my burrito. And the chile rellenos... I'll just leave it that those weren't chile rellenos. I give it 2 stars because the prices were what I expected for a Mexican-style restaurant. Go somewhere else if you need a Mexican fix.

My family stopped here for lunch in June during the mid-afternoon lull. We were the only people in there, which was good, because my two young kids were rambunctious after being in the car for a few hours. The server was pleasant and the food came fairly quickly, but I was not terribly impressed with the quality or taste. I wouldn't go so far as to say it was bad, but it was rather bland compared to other, similar restaurants. I do wonder if this was due to the time of day that we went.

I love it. Nutritious and Delicious. Always super friendly staff.Nice music. Free Welcome -In appetizer - just Nachos served with spicy sauce is a great start. One of the best restaurant in Dunkirk. You may eat there for $10 ---- comparing to fastfood where you have to pay $7-9 just for burger and French fries ... Go there, relax, enjoy a Mexican music and delicious healthy meal.

Ok. Runny refried beans, small portions but tasted ok. Wish they had green enchiladas like everyone else.

El Azteca is an awesome Mexican restaurant. My wife and I have been here several times and even took my parents when they were in town. We have never had a problem with anything and will certainly be back!

The food was tasty delicious! I love it when I ask for tomatillo salsa, I get the authentic version, yay! The other sauces were delicious too. My Carne Asada tacos hit the spot, and hubby's Chicken Quesadilla Fajita was very good! Margaritas were on point! Verv pleased we came for a delightful meal! Miriam was a sweatheart!

Was not prepared very well at all. The burritos were very lack luster and tasted very processed and bland..honestly would not recommend and won't be visiting anytime soon.
